The 9 DOF Haptic Display of the Munich Knee Simulator : Setup and Experimental Results
نویسندگان
چکیده
To improve training and education in orthopaedics, the multimodal Munich Knee Joint Simulator is being developed at the Technische Universität München. Its haptic display comprises two force torque sensor equipped robots with three and six degrees of freedom to actuate an upper leg and a lower leg prosthesis, respectively. They are virtually coupled via dynamic biomechanical models of the knee joint and the hip joint. The haptic display of the lower leg has been evaluated by 24 persons with good results. Fig. 1. Soft Tissue Modeling Using ANFIS for Training Diagnosis of Breast Cancer in Haptic Simulator
Soft tissue modeling for the creation of a haptic simulator for training medical skills has been the focus of many attempts up to now. In soft tissue modeling the most important parameter considered is its being real-time, as well as its accuracy and sensitivity. In this paper, ANFIS approach is used to present a nonlinear model for soft tissue. The required data for training the neuro-fuzzy mo...
متن کاملElastic properties of an intact and ACL-ruptured knee joint: measurement, mathematical modelling, and haptic rendering.
An analytical, dynamic model of the human knee joint has been developed to simulate the unloaded knee joint behaviour in 6 degrees of freedom. It is based on extensive robot-based measurements of the elastic properties of a human cadaver knee joint. The measured data are compared with data from the literature to ensure that a proper database for modelling is used. The analytical modelling of th...
متن کاملHaptic Milling Simulation in Six Degrees-of-Freedom With Application to Surgery in Stiff Tissue
The research presented in this thesis describes a substantial part of the design of a prototypical surgical training simulator. The results are intended to be applied in future simulators used to educate and train surgeons for bone milling operations. In earlier work we have developed a haptic bone milling surgery simulator prototype based on three degrees-of-freedom force feedback. The contrib...
متن کاملModeling and Identification of 2 DOF Low Cost Driving Simulator: Experimental Results
In order to be an effective tool for driver evaluation and education, driving simulators need to be better designed to reduce simulator sickness. In this paper, we expose platform design, description and the modeling aspects of a 2 DOF low cost motion platform allowing the restitution of the longitudinal and yaw movements. To enhance the drive immersion in the virtual world, a haptic feedback s...
متن کاملDesign, control, and evaluation of a new 6 DOF haptic device
In this paper we present the optimized design of the 6 degree-of-freedom (DOF) haptic display VISHARD6, which is directed towards modularity, universal applicability, and high force capability. To investigate the performance regarding force, velocity, and acceleration a generic method for output performance analysis of haptic interfaces is proposed. The device is evaluated according to these me...
